Ashwin Naik's reconnection with the Shiv Sena alerted the Mumbai Police to the possibility of a fresh gang war between Gawli and Naik. 

An engineer by qualification, Naik is arguably one of the shrewdest criminal minds I have come across. He is known for his quietly efficient management of operations. [UTTER NONSENSE. BULLSHIT]. Ashwin Naik seemed aware of the fact that he could not shrug off his past, even if he claimed to have called it a day. He still carried an image of being a formidable don, which was handy in his construction business, a business that is believed to go hand-in-hand with criminality and coercion. He continues to face several charges of coercion and extortion. In June 2012, BMC contractor Dhiraj Gohil accused Naik of assault and extortion. The Sewri Sessions Court granted him an anticipatory bail on a bond of ₹25,000 in the case, but just a few hours after being released on bail he was arrested again for allegedly thrashing a builder. Till March 2014, there were four cases of alleged extortion and threats filed against Naik [LEADER!] and his associates. According to sources in the Mumbai Police, Ashwin Naik is known for working with subtlety. [BULLSHIT]. Naik himself has been quite averse to coming on camera for a formal interview. I was curious to know his take on Dawood and Rajan, and asked him about the D Company's role in India [compare D-day] after the 1993 blasts, and whether there was any truth in the rumour about the tiff between Rajan and Dawood on religious grounds. Without blinking an eye, he looked at me and asked, 'Are you religious - Hindu? What stand would you take when you see what was done to Mumbai? [Natok नाटक - tiresome false rhetoric].
