I placed an online order with Amazon for a 5-inch (along the diagonal of the screen of the smartphone) 4G LAVA LZG402 OM (Rs. 5,600) yesterday and got it today! (Amazon and Flipkart are amazing in a world of unpunctuality.) I thought yesterday that it would of the same size as cute little 4G LAVA Z40 (which I bought from a local mobile shop about three or four years ago for about Rs. 3500) BUT to My pleasant surprise I find that 4G LAVA LZG402 OM is bigger. I measured the diagonal of My little 4G LAVA Z40 (still going strong) and found that it is 4 inches; My 4G LAVA LZG402 OM is 5 inches, a SIGNIFICANT difference of 1 INCH.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 (3GB RAM and 32 GB ROM) and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (10.4 inch, RAM 4GB and ROM 64 GB plus a "pen" for "writing", but its price is Rs. 32, 000 less current offer = about Rs. 30,000; but what will I do with a pen?). I have just found to My great surprise that Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (10.5 inch, 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM) is available online from Amazon for Rs. 16,999! (~17,000). If I ordered it online today, I would get it delivered TOMORROW! (I am not saying I will order it now. I have to constantly practise/practice budgeting. I have given information for the benefit of My readers, if any.)
I have recently handed over My 4G Realme tablet to sp. to play online LUDO, watch mojo, some TV serials etc., after I used Realme tablet for 8 months (I finished paying last EMI on September 2), and got back Mi smart TV in exchange. I bought Oppo A16k last month and gave it to sp. and got back Motorola smartphone from sp. It still seems difficult to persuade sp. to cook well and cook more than 1 item. It seems that hard-boiled Na. ass. will not change. SMARTPHONE WITHOUT CAMERA
I wish smartphones and tablets were available WITHOUT camera because I don't have any interest in camera and don't want to take any photos, and the price would be much less, but I know that I am asking for the moon (idiom) and to make a smartphone WITHOUT camera for only ONE individual out of 7 billion, the cost of that smartphone would be crores of rupees or billions of dollars, billions of pounds, etc. (A quixotic idea, I agree.)
After searching Google and YouTube and Amazon, it now seems that what I thought was a mad / weird / quixotic idea is NOT a mad / weird / quixotic idea after all, because it appears that smartphones WITHOUT CAMERA are available in India, for example Ziba K5 Non Camera Smartphone etc. What I thought was an impractical idea is a very practical idea after all - PEOPLE Iike Me who have NO INTEREST at all in cameras and in taking photos (I am very glad that there are many in India LIKE Me who are not CRAZY users of Facebook etc. who CONSTANTLY take "selfies") would be ABLE to get good quality smartphones which are SANS camera at much lower cost than those with camera useless to guys like Me.
I feel the need to fill My stomach from time to time throughout the day but it seems very strange that My sp. has no such food-hunger signals, so it is possible that sp. is "autotrophic" and synthesizes food from air and water vapour/vapor a la "photosynthesis".

It seems that many users of English find English spelling very weird or bizarre, but I have never found English spelling to be a problem. Does any literate person ever mis-spell his or her OWN NAME? I think it is really a question of paying attention to the spelling of a word and practising (Br.) / practicing (Am.) writing the word a few times on paper to remember its spelling permanently. CORRECT SPELLING MADE EASY by Professor Norman Lewis and 6 MINUTES A DAY TO PERFECT SPELLING by Professor Harry Shefter are two very interesting and helpful books on English spelling.
"Modern" BFs and GFs "BREAK UP" very easily after their TEMPORARY "romance" (a EUPHEMISM for s.) because they are NOT REALLY INTERESTED in one another and OFTEN they may NOT be sure how to SPELL the names of their very temporary "time pass" GFs and BFs. [I find English, Bengali, Hindi, and Assamese spellings very easy to remember. I don't find any spellings BIZARRE. By the way, I never had any f. iBall SLIDE 4G tablet
I bought an iBall SLIDE 4G tablet (about 7 inch size i.e. screen diagonal size) about ten years ago for about Rs. 9000 - 10000, and I used it for several years. (The word SLIDE in iball SLIDE 4G always makes Me wonder if SLIDE was a deliberate double entendre; surely this does NOT indicate that I have a "dirty mind"; Shakespeare used many risque double entendres.) But after several years of use, its battery did not work well - it discharged very quickly. We searched for a new battery without success. It seemed that iball had kicked the bucket - expired - R.I.P. But a young Assamese boy who works in a mobile shop managed to get Me a SUBSTITUTE battery for which I paid him 2000 bucks. Now My iball 4G SLIDE tablet works fine. Touch wood!
I am not interested in camera and taking photos, but RECENTLY I learned from trial and error that if OCCASIONALLY I want to post a photo on My blog, megapixels can matter, as exemplified by the above photo of the danseuse duo which was captured in color by young Sunny (son of a bro.-in-law) with his new POCO smartphone (he says he bought it online recently for about Rs. 18,000) which has a camera of many megapixels. BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS
My JVD and "iBall" bluetooth SPEAKERS USED to be OK, but sad to say, yesterday evening and this morning, bluetooth did not work. (I have given them to My sp. to listen to the radio in them.) I have other (inexpensive) speakers. JVD advertises: "Other sell. We excel...!" This AD shows poor knowledge of English grammar. (A reputable company pays careful attention to grammar in its ads.) I used to be very SURPRISED that My iBall SLIDE 4G tablet would always refuse to get connected by bluetooth to My "iBall" speakers, which, I now suspect, are perhaps NOT GENUINE iBall speakers made by iBall company but a CHEAP "duplicate" made by some "420" company. Google gives the advice that we should BUY "good quality" speakers, but I have to practise/practice budgeting even after preventing sp. from "wasting" money buying "useless" things, and even despite My NEVER smoking or drinking or taking drugs or gambling or running after s. girls or "visiting" pr. BUT I KNOW that, at least in My case, what may AT FIRST seem to be a NEGATIVE situation ALWAYS turns out to be a welcome POSITIVE THING for Me! This has happened again and again. My best wishes to all speakers: JVD and iBall etc. etc., genuine or duplicate, cheap or costly or very costly! I have seen paper cups for tea or coffee with NASCAFE and NESCAFE printed on the paper cups, the former standing on the shoulders of the latter giant a la the well-known quote by Newton. Very cheap (low cost) "pirated" books (photocopies of an original book's pages, using paper of inferior quality, the photocopies loosely bound somehow) are available on the footpaths of Delhi; Delhi boys who are TECHNICAL "experts" can assemble inexpensive components in a few minutes (when they get orders from their customers) to make inexpensive IT products which look and function exactly like very expensive products of "branded" companies like Apple etc. I strongly feel that our financially struggling Delhi boys who are TECHNICAL WIZARDS can bring about an IT REVOLUTION in India. If hard-working technical experts in China and South Korea and Japan can do it, so can hard-working technical experts in India. (College Street in Kolkata is very famous for second hand books, but I don't think pirated editions of books are sold there.) - G

I am very glad to announce that the problem of not getting bluetooth connection from My smartphones to My excellent (inexpensive*) JVD and iBall speakers got solved at last a few minutes ago! For the past two or three days, I had been suspecting tenant KIDS to have caused the mischief by connecting their parents' smartphones to My two speakers by bluetooth (but of course why on earth would the KIDS do it?) - after a lot of unsuccessful "CID"ying, the mystery was finally solved by Me just a few minutes back! Both speakers had been connected earlier to My REALME Pad which I had gifted** to My spouse after I used the tablet for eight months (I cleared the EMI instalments on 2nd of this month) - the FORGET option had not been clicked! (I am feeling super-glad now because both of these speakers have tuning knobs and both give good quality sound and I was planning to start podcasting after a very long gap, and I can NOW fulfil/fulfill My wish, THANK God.)

Uploaders of YouTube videos know if anyone has watched their videos, anyway, I think. (It seems to Me that there may be some female YouTubers who think and imagine TOO FAST FORWARD without any basis if I "subscribe" to their YouTube videos without any "quid pro quo" motive whatsoever in My mind. I DON'T want to "mislead" and "trap" any female just because the female may seem to be sending subtle hints that she is "available" and a pr. in thought if not in deed. I have never cheated or wanted to "trap" or "betray" females (who are NOT the centre/center of My universe - I am the center/centre of My universe)) unlike VICE VERSA. A female may turn out to be a Nazi honey trap employed by stupid Nazis. All beginning college students should buy and read this interesting book that will teach you how to learn and remember new words permanently and never forget their meaning and use! Indian students are very lucky that WORD POWER MADE EASY, published in India by GoylSaab, is very low-priced and it is also available online from Amazon. I bought and read the first edition of WORD POWER MADE EASY with great enjoyment when I was a young 1st year college student aged 16: this book truly revolutionized My life; later, I bought the SECOND edition which looks fat because of extra pages containing an interesting dictionary of important English words with example sentences. The book is very useful for competitive exams like GRE and TOEFL (I scored 98 percentile and 99 percentile on two TOEFL exams I took long ago) but it is also a MUST for EVERYONE who wishes to learn to speak and write English very well, not just for competitive exams. I have never talked in front of a mirror and I have never spoken in English at home with family members nor with My friends in Indian schools and colleges and universities (with the sole exception of St. Stephen's College). But of course, everyone should choose what he or she feels is the best way for him or her to improve knowledge of English. The most important thing to remember is that to get maximum benefit from WORD POWER MADE EASY, you must do all the very interesting and easy exercises in the book (TRUE/FALSE, MULTIPLE CHOICE, MATCHING, FILLING IN etc.). When I first bought and studied a chapter of WORD POWER MADE EASY (First Edition) and did all the exercises, I was surprised that I remembered all the difficult-looking new words in the chapter! I still remember the excitement I then felt. (I used a pencil to do all the exercises in the book.) Over the years, I bought several copies of the low-priced best-seller WORD POWER MADE EASY (Second Edition) which I gave away to others as My personal gifts.
Another very interesting book on word power is Dr. Wilfred Funk: SIX WEEKS TO WORDS OF POWER, which is also inexpensive and easily available in India. Then I bought WORD POWER MADE EASY by Norman Lewis from local bookstore WESTERN BOOK DEPOT of My very kind FRIEND Mr. Ramesh Kumar (his younger brother Satish Kumar now runs a bookshop in Delhi; I use a MNEMONIC to remember the names Ramesh and Satish: Rs.) When I got a college transfer from St. Stephen's College, Delhi to Cotton College, Gauhati (now Guwahati), I ordered a copy of SIX WEEKS TO WORDS OF POWER by Dr. Wilfred Funk and got it by post from very friendly and helpful Mr. J.D. Tanna, Pocket Books Distributing Company (now TIMELY BOOKS CENTRE run by his son), 30, Chittaranjan Avenue, Calcutta (now Kolkata). I bought a copy of 25 MAGIC STEPS TO WORD POWER by Dr. Wilfred Funk from a second hand book shop in Bombay (now Mumbai) - this book was a tremendous support to Me when I was fighting (and eventuslly crushed) Nazis:

After watching some YouTube tutorials like this and others in Indian languages, I have just realized the PAINFUL truth that Indian students who have studied in non English-medium schools such as Hindi-medium, Bengali-medium, Assamese-medium schools, are very weak in English and will need help to understand (forget enjoy) English books like WORD POWER MADE EASY which will be too advanced for them. (My sp. - who read in Bengali-medium and Assamese-medium schools - would not understand a single sentence in WORD POWER MADE EASY, assuming she suddenly got interested in improving her English, which would be very much like the sun suddenly deciding to rise in the west.) I feel that most Indian students would have to pass B.A. and M.A. before they could understand and enjoy WORD POWER MADE EASY. But passing B.A. and M.A. in Hindi, Bengali, Assamese etc. will not ensure that they will understand the book without help from YouTube tutorials in Indian languages. I should have looked at the "ground reality" before I posted My enthusiastic comments on WORD POWER MADE EASY. Not every Indian student is strong in English like I was in school etc. Even English-medium students in India are not very strong in English - they use very ordinary BF-GF time pass English. So what is the solution for Indian students? Make your English strong before reading WORD POWER MADE EASY. My best wishes. (British and American students whose MOTHER TONGUE is English will easily understand WORD POWER MADE EASY and will enjoy reading the book which will benefit them immensely.)
I have just thought of a brilliant solution! Buy and read the very easy and magical word book INSTANT VOCABULARY by Ida Ehrlich which teaches you to understand new English words INSTANTLY through a very simple and easy method - by learning some KEYS! I bought a copy of INSTANT VOCABULARY many years ago; it is now available online from Amazon for a low price. I think that "Ida Ehrlich" was a pen name used by the author when the book was first published in USA by Simon & Schuster, New York. An interesting book with a similar title is by Amitav Sengupta (University of California): MODERN'S INSTANT VOCABULARY (published by M.B.D. PUBLISHERS DISTRIBUTORS, 229, BHOLA NATH NAGAR, SHAHDARA, DELHI - 110032; Rs. 125). I have the U.S. edition (printed in India by Simon & Schuster): Ida Ehrlich: INSTANT VOCABULARY (POCKET BOOKS) and Amitav Sengupta: MODERN'S INSTANT VOCABULARY (M.B.D.).
I still remember that when I bought and went through INSTANT VOCABULARY by Ida Ehrlich, I was astonished that I could easily break up and understand English words on shop signboards as I walked on the streets of My home town Guwahati.

I think the easiest and at the same time very interesting book for Indian college students who want to increase their word power is to read the vocabulary section World of Words (pp. 255-378) in the book:

published by BSC PUBLISHING, C-37, Ganesh Nagar, Pandav Nagar Complex, Delhi-110092. It is also available from Amazon.
Don't bother reading the other sections in the book if your main interest is to enjoy learning new words, and not to prepare for fake "competitive exams". My Anchor podcast #007 (December 12, 2020) is a recording of a passage from ENGLISH IS EASY which explains the meanings of the words aback, abandon, abortion etc. in an interesting way by using these words in a short story made up to contain the words.

I suddenly noticed yesterday evening with very great surprise, when I was looking at Amazon catalog on My smartphone, that Amazon was selling Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (10.5 inch display, 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, Wi-Fi tablet) with an ASTONISHING discount of ₹10,000 for a limited period. (Rs. 24,000 - Rs. 10,000 = Rs. 14,000... WHAT?!!) I sprang into action. (who is NOT jobless or underemployed) and she did get the money for Me for which I thanked bro.-in-law and placed My order for Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (₹14,000) plus a cover (₹450) and got then today. Dream come true. (Perhaps I may have given the IMPRESSION to some female readers - if any - that I am hypercritical of My sp. though I am not. The word thesaurus is from the Greek for "treasury" [filled with treasure, gold, jewels, gems], and that, indeed, is what it is - a rich treasury of words from which you can pick and at will.
In this thesaurus we have selected over a hundred commonly used words and listed with them other words with similar meanings [synonyms]. If you look up pick, you will be given four other words: choose, gather, pluck, and select. Wouldn't it be much easier, you may ask, if we had only one word for each idea or object? Take the word nice, for example, a commonly overused word:
After their nice supper, the kittens went to sleep on a nice cushion. It was then that I considered how nice it was of that nice woman next door to offer to look after them while we are away having a nice time. We must buy her a nice present, maybe a nice straw hat so that she can have a nice time sitting in the sun in her nice garden.
All those nices make this passage sound flat. Here is an alternative version:
After their delicious supper, the kittens went to sleep on a comfortable cushion. It was then that I considered how thoughtful it was of that kind woman next door to offer to look after them while we are away having an enjoyable time. We must buy her a special present, maybe a pretty straw hat so that she can have a pleasant time sitting in the sun in her lovely garden.
You can see from this passage that it is worth looking for the exact word to give life to what you are trying to say.
It is important to remember that there are few words which mean exactly the same as another. Take the word fast for instance. It means almost the same as quick, yet we would speak of a fast car or a fast train but not of a quick car or a quick train. So you must use synonyms with care. That is why there are sample sentences to show how to use the word correctly.

"Shakespeare" was probably a chatterbox like this guy who looks like an American guy with a fake British accent, who probably imagines that he is "Shakespeare" declaiming grandly like a bombastic guy in a Shakespeare play! (It is possible that this video is an AI video which looks and sounds real to fool us. By the way, lazy males can also be bipolar like lazy females, it seems clear from this tragic comical video. This guy imagines that he is a great Oxford scholar. The guy pronounces Juliet as JuleeAY, sonnet as soNAY! I am infinite polar, by the way, not lazy bipolar. I am hyperactive, but not hypercritical, I hope. - G)
A very sad and tragic video is the following by a Russian guy who imagines himself to be far superior to and dismisses as useless all YouTubere who publish language learning tutorial videos on YouTube, but I could not understand what Vladimir really means in this pathetic video. Many guys throughout the world have unjustified and irrational sad delusions of their own greatness but this is a natural and automatic method of emotional survival and keeping one's hopes alive in a world where everybody including Vladimir is trying to criticise and belittle everyone else:
